The Community Centre is completely run by local volunteers. There are many different ways you can get involved and we're more fun than you think.
Community Gardens
Flowers, Veg, Fruit and more
The Residents' Association is responsible for the Community Garden on Nelson Street, the Food Hub veg boxes outside the Centre and five parks in the Wensum area. We plant, weed, water and litter pick throughout the year.

Open Fridays
Every Friday evening we throw open the doors of the community bar.
The community bar is staffed and run by volunteers. We are open every Friday during school term time for local people to meet, chat and plan to take over the world. Shifts are around two hours and you do not need any previous bar experience.

Street Parties
Working with the When Sum Neighbours
We support the annual street events in Hotblack Road and West End Street. Volunteers are always needed to run stalls, serve tea, hang bunting or whatever you can turn your hand to.

Can You Help Us?
We are a volunteer organisation
There are so many ways that you could help with whatever time or skills you have. We need people to paint, garden, work behind the bar, fix our computer, litter pick, distribute flyers, run social media, create display boards, run events, help with marketing or take photographs.
